Μεθ’ ΗΜΩΝ Ο ΘΕΟΣ

λάστης καί πλάσμα μαζί. Θεός καί πρωτόπλαστοι  μαζί στόν Παράδεισο.  Φιλική συντροφιά Θεοῦ καί ἀνθρώπου. Περίπατος καί συζήτηση. Ὄμορφη ζωή.

Ζήλεψε ὁ σατανᾶς. Μπῆκε στή μέση. Μέ γλυκόλογα παρασύρει τήν Εὔα. Παίρνουν τά μυαλά της ἀέρα. Θέλει νά γίνει μεγαλύτερη ἀπ’ τό Θεό. Δοκιμάζει τόν καρπό. Ἀπογυμνώνεται ἀπό τή Χάρη καί τήν Ἀγάπη τοῦ Θεοῦ. Ἔνοχη ζητεῖ καί συνένοχο. Καί κάμνει συνένοχο τόν Ἀδάμ.

Ἔρχεται τό δειλινό ὁ Θεός γιά τόν συνηθισμένο περίπατο. Οἱ ἔνοχοι κρύβονται. Δέν ἔχουν τό ἔνδυμα τοῦ νυμφῶνος. Φωνάζει ὁ Θεός. «Ἀδάμ, Ἀδάμ ποῦ εἶσαι;» Σάν Θεός δέν χρειάζεται ἀπάντηση. Γνωρίζει τά πάντα. Ἐκδιώκει τούς ἔνοχους ἀπό τόν Παράδεισο. Μεταξύ Θεοῦ καί ἀνθρώπων πλέον “μέγα χάσμα ἐστήρικται”. Ἀδύνατο γιά τούς ἀνθρώπους νά μείνουν στήν πλευρά τοῦ Θεοῦ.

Ἐξόριστοι οἱ ἄνθρωποι ἀπό τήν Ἀγάπη καί τή Χάρη τοῦ Θεοῦ, ὑποφέρουν. Ὑποφέρουν καί περιμένουν. Καί ἰδού ἀστέρι λάμπει στήν Ἀνατολή. Κάτι καλό θά ἀναγγείλει. Προλαβαίνει ὁ Ἄγγελος «Ἰδού εὐαγγελίζομαι ὑμῖν χαράν μεγάλην ἥτις ἔσται παντί τῶ λαῶ, ὅτι ἐτέχθη ὑμῖν σήμερον σωτήρ ὅς ἐστι Χριστός Κύριος ἐν πόλει Δαυΐδ». Ὁ Προφήτης εἶπε «Ἰδού ἡ Παρθένος ἐν γαστρί ἔξει καί τέξεται υἱόν καί καλέσουσι τό ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἐμμανουήλ, ὅ ἐστι μεθερμηνευόμενον μεθ’ ἡμῶν ὁ Θεός». Τό ρηθέν ἀπό τόν Προφήτη ἐπληρώθη. Ἡ Γέννηση τοῦ Θεανθρώπου εἶναι πραγματικότης. Ὁ Θεός εἶναι καί πάλι μαζί μέ τούς ἀνθρώπους.

Γεννήθηκε ὁ Θεάνθρωπος καί τί ἔφερε γιά τόν ἄνθρωπο; Ἔφερε τήν κατάργηση τοῦ χάσματος μεταξύ Θεοῦ καί ἀνθρώπων. Ἔφερε τό γκρέμισμα τοῦ μεσότοιχου τῆς ἔχθρας. Ἔφερε τήν εἰρήνην «τήν πάντα νοῦν ὑπερέχουσαν». Ἔφερε τήν ἀποκατάσταση τῆς φιλίας μεταξύ τοῦ Θεοῦ καί τῶν ἀνθρώπων. Ἔφερε τήν δικαιοσύνη μεταξύ τῶν ἀνθρώπων. Ἔφερε ἀνθρώπινα δικαιώματα γιά τήν γυναίκα, γιά τό παιδί, γιά τόν σκλάβο.

Στόν κόσμο, πρίν τήν Γέννηση τοῦ Θεανθρώπου, ἡ γυναίκα, τό παιδί, ὁ δοῦλος δέν θεωροῦνταν ἄνθρωποι.  Τό ἴδιο συνέβαινε στήν κραταιά ρωμαϊκή αὐτοκρατορία. Ἦλθε ὁ Χριστός καί εἶπε. Δέν ὑπάρχει διαφορά μεταξύ Ἕλληνα καί Ἰουδαίου, ἀνδρός καί γυναικός. Δέν ὑπάρχει διαφορά μεταξύ ἐλευθέρου καί δούλου. Στά κρατοῦντα τῆς ἐποχῆς ἐκείνης ποιός θά τολμοῦσε νά φέρει μιά τέτοια καινοτομία. Κανείς ἄλλος παρά ὁ Θεάνθρωπος.

Μά πολλοί παραπονούμαστε. Ποῦ εἶναι ἡ εἰρήνη πού ἔφερε ὁ Χριστός; Ποῦ εἶναι ἡ φιλία; Ποῦ εἶναι ἡ ἰσότητα; Ποῦ εἶναι τά ἀνθρώπινα δικαιώματα; Καί σήμερα ὑπάρχουν ἀδικημένοι καί δοῦλοι καί σκλάβοι. Γιατί;

Ναί, ὅλα αὐτά ὑπάρχουν. Γιατί ὁλόκληρη ἡ ἀνθρωπότης δέν ἐγνώρισε ἀκόμη τόν Χριστό. Πολλές φορές κι ἐκεῖνοι πού Τόν γνώρισαν καί φέρουν τό ὄνομά Του, δέν Τόν γνώρισαν κατ’ ἐπίγνωση. Τόν τιμοῦν μέ τά χείλη καί ὄχι μέ τήν καρδιά. Ἄς μή προσπαθοῦμε νά μεταθέσουμε τίς εὐθῦνες τίς δικές μας ἀπό τούς ἑαυτούς μας στό Θεό.

Πάνω ἀπ’ ὅλα ὁ Θεάνθρωπος Χριστός ἔφερε στόν κόσμο τόν Θεό. Τόν ἀληθινό Θεό. Τόν Τριαδικό Θεό. Τόν Θεό στόν ὁποῖον ἀργά ἤ γρήγορα ὅλοι θά κλίνουν γόνυ καί θά γίνει μία ποίμνη ὑπό ἕνα Ποιμένα, τόν Χριστό.

Αὐτά ἔφερε ὁ Θεάνθρωπος σέ μᾶς κι ἐμεῖς τί πρέπει νά κάνομε γι’ Αὐτόν; Γι’ Αὐτόν τίποτε. Ἀπολύτως τίποτε. Δέν ἔχει ὁ Θεός καμμία ἀνάγκη. Ἐμεῖς ἔχομε τήν ἀνάγκη. Ἐμεῖς γιά τούς ἑαυτούς μας γιορτάζοντας τά Χριστούγεννα πρέπει νά εἰποῦμε «Ὁμολογοῦμεν τήν χάριν, κηρύττομεν τόν ἔλεον, οὐ κρύπτομεν τήν εὐεργεσίαν».  Χωρίς καμμία καθυστέρηση, χωρίς καμμία δικαιολογία πρέπει ὁ καθένας μας νά ζητεῖ νά κάμνει παντοῦ καί πάντοτε τό θέλημα τοῦ Θεοῦ. Μέ τήν γέννηση τοῦ Θεανθρώπου, χωρίς ἀμφιβολία ἦλθε ὁ Θεός στούς ἀνθρώπους. Κατέβηκε ὁ Θεός ἀπό τούς οὐρανούς στή γῆ. Γιά νά πᾶμε ἐμεῖς στόν Θεό, γιά ν’ ἀνεβοῦμε στόν οὐρανό, χρειάζεται αὐτό καί μόνο. Νά κάνομε πάντοτε τό θέλημά Του. Ἔτσι, θά ἑνωθοῦμε μαζί­­ Του. Ἔτσι, θά γιορτάσομε τά καλύτερα Χριστούγεννα. Ἔτσι, θά εἴμαστε ἀπό τώρα στή Βασιλεία τοῦ Θεοῦ. Ἔτσι, θά ἀνταμώσουμε στή δεύτερή Του παρουσία στήν τελική καί δικαία κρίση καί θά ἀκούσομε τό «Δεῦτε οἱ εὐλογημένοι τοῦ Πατρός μου κληρονομήσατε τήν αἰώνια βασιλείαν...». Εὔχομαι ὅλοι νά ἀκούσομε τήν εὐλογημένη αὐτή φωνή Του.

«Μεθ’ ἡμῶν ὁ Θεός».  Ἄν καί ἐμεῖς εἴμαστε μαζί Του, θά ζοῦμε ὅπως οἱ πρωτόπλαστοι στόν Παράδεισο. Μέ φίλο τόν Θεό. Μέ συντροφιά τό Θεό.

­Καλά καί εὐλογημένα Χριστούγεννα, ἀγαπημένοι μου χριστιανοί, μέ τόν Θεό μαζί καί μέ τούς ἑαυτούς μας μαζί Του.

GOD IS WITH US

reator and creation together. God and the first created humans together in Paradise. Friendly company between God and man. A stroll and discussion. A wonderful life.

Satan was jealous. He intervened.  With sweet words of persuasion, he led Eve astray. Her mind took flight and was puffed up. She wanted to become greater than God. She tasted of the fruit. She was unclothed of the Grace and the Love of God. Feeling guilty, she looked for an accomplice. And Adam became her accomplice and shared her guilt.

During the afternoon,  God set out for His customary walk. The guilty ones hid. They did not have the festal garments of the bridal chamber. God cried out, “Adam, Adam, where are you?” As God, He did not need an answer. He knows all things. He expelled the guilty ones from Paradise. From now on, between God and man, “a great chasm has been established between them.” It was impossible for humanity to remain on the side of God.

Being expelled from the Love and Grace of God, humanity suffers. They suffer and await. And behold, a star shines in the East. It announces something good. The Angel descends and announces:  “Behold I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you, who is Christ the Lord.” The Prophet Isaiah said: “Behold the Virgin shall conceive and be with Child and bear a Son and call His name Emmanuel, which means ‘God is with us’.” The saying of the Prophet is fulfilled. The Birth of the God-Man becomes a reality with the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem.  God is once again united with humanity.

Christ, the God-Man is born; yet, what did He bring for humanity? He brought the end of the chasm and the separation between God and man. He tore down the partition of hatred. He brought forth the peace “which surpasses all understanding”. He brought the recapitulation and the restoration of the friendship between God and humanity. He brought human rights for the woman, for the child, for the slave and the under-privileged.

Before the Birth of Christ the God-Man, the world did not consider the woman, the child or the slave as being “human”. The same was true in the mighty Roman Empire. Christ came and said that there is no difference between Greek and Jew, man and woman. There is no difference between the free man and the slave.  Within the mighty societies of that time, who would dare proclaim such a  new teaching and innovation?  No one else but Christ, the God-Man.

Yet, many of us complain: Where is the peace which Christ brought. As we celebrate Christmas, we must give thanks to Christ our new-born Incarnate God and proclaim from the depths of our souls: “We confess His grace, we proclaim His mercy, we do not conceal His beneficence.” Without any delay, without any excuse, every one of us must always do the will of God, everywhere and at all times.  Beyond any doubt, with the birth of Christ the God-Man, God came to humanity. God descended from the heavens to the earth, so that we may ascend from earth to heaven.  In order for us to ascend to God, to go to heaven, we need this and only this: to always do His will.  By doing this, we will be united with Him. We will then celebrate the best Christmas ever.  In this way, we will be in the Kingdom of God from now. In this way, we will meet again at His second glorious coming, on the day of the last and just judgment, and will hope to hear:  “Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the eternal Kingdom…”.  My  hope and prayer is for all of us to hear His blessed voice and these blessed words.  

 “God is with us”. If we are also with Him, we will then live as our first created parents in Paradise with God as our friend, with God as our companion.

 My beloved Christians, I extend to all of you my best wishes for a joyous celebration and  a Blessed Christmas, together with God and all of us with Him.
